I always enjoyed sitting down with kids and do art with them, so not just give them a piece of paper and crayons and that’s it, no actually sit down with the kids and make art.
Kids do really love your presence and attention no matter what activity so why not sit down and do art with them and let their imagination blossom.
And it doesn’t matter which art or crafts you do. Do a variety of arts and crafts. Make necklaces with beads or make a watercolor painting. Just see what kids art supplies you have handy and create something with it
And if you after awhile run out of art supplies come over to this site again and get some more cheap kids art supplies. Because art doesn’t have to be expensive and still be of good quality.
Now of course when you are busy with the kids let them come up with the ideas and what they want to do and you just help out if needed, they will let you know if they need you 
. Really let their imagination run wild it is very beneficial for them and you.
After awhile this a”art time” will become something special and the kids will really look forward to creating art. They will learn how to express themselves through their art. The whole family will benefit.
